Hohhot Baita International Airport

L&B teamed with East China Architectural Design & Research Institution (ECADI) to win the Hohhot New Airport Terminal Design Competition.

The winning scheme proposed three centralized terminals to serve the phasing development demand.  L&B focused on terminal site planning, terminal concourse configuration planning, terminal concept planning, airfield planning, facilities requirements programming and landside transportation planning.

The primary philosophy of terminal planning and design for this new airport is to provide flexible facilities that can accommodate the unique seasoning demands between summer and winter.

The scheme also focuses on convenient and comfortable passenger service with quick and efficient turnaround of airfield operations while encouraging the tour aviation market demand and providing stimulus to the regional economy.

The new airport has been planned to serve the rapidly increasing aviation market growth by 28 million by 2030 and 55 million by 2050.
