L&B, AAI Exchange Contract

May 2018

Landrum & Brown (L&B), a global aviation planning and development consultancy, and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) exchanged a contract to launch the Sustainability Master Plan for Kolkata and Lucknow International Airports at the U.S.-India Aviation Summit on May 10, 2018, in Mumbai, India.

Celia Fremberg, Associate Vice President, and Guruprasad Mohapatra, AAI Chairman, exchanged a contract to launch the Sustainability Master Plan for Kolkata and Lucknow International Airports.

Guruprasad Mohapatra, AAI Chairman, and Celia Fremberg, Associate Vice President of L&B, met on the stage at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel to exchange the contract and present the official Summit Briefing Book.

Summit attendees also received a copy of the book, which documented India’s perspective on aviation as well as its aviation community, economic and investment climate, aviation market outlook, and specific project opportunities for U.S. companies. The creation of the book was a team effort led by L&B’s Mumbai office, including Debayan Sen, Associate Director; Lekhya Karyampudi, Senior Consultant; and Pranav Bhardwaj, Consultant.

AAI officially selected L&B to prepare the Sustainably Master Plan at the signing of the grant with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) on Sept. 11, 2017.

The Sustainability Master Plan will provide AAI with a roadmap for the development and expansion of its two fastest growing airports to accommodate the anticipated increase in demand while incorporating sustainable and environmental best practices.

“This is the first of its kind in India! By developing sustainability airport master plans, India is showing the world their commitment to the environment. The developed plan will consider operations efficiency, make financial sense and collaborate with stakeholders. L&B is very honored to be part of this process, working side by side with AAI and USTDA to make history,” says Fremberg.
