Our staff of aviation environmental planners are focused on obtaining approvals for airport improvement projects under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related Federal statutes through the development of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), sponsor Environmental Assessments (EAs), FAA Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSIs), Categorical Exclusions (CATXs), and associated environmental permitting. We have conducted comparable and/or simultaneous evaluations under state law in numerous states having independent environmental regulations.
Following applicable Federal, state, and local regulations and guidance provided under FAA Orders 5050.4A, Airport Environmental Handbook, and 1051.1E, Environmental Impacts – Policy and Procedures, as well as applicable state and local regulations, Landrum & Brown’s project managers lead an experienced team of planners, environmental scientists, public facilitators, and engineers to clearly define project purpose and need, thoroughly identify and evaluate all relevant and practicable alternatives, identify impacts, and propose the most acceptable forms of mitigation. Our success in achieving approvals for these projects begins with early and extensive coordination with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public.
